Olivia Stewart Design offers the full range of garden design and landscape architecture services for private and institutional clients. Olivia’s approach is based upon an understanding of the surrounding landscape and architectural style of relevant buildings. Her particular strength lies in creating site-appropriate designs, in which the garden works in harmony with its setting and enhances the outstanding features of its surroundings.

Olivia Stewart is a graduate of the Oxford College Of Garden Design, where she studied for a Post Graduate in Residential Landscape Architecture, which complements her extensive experience in horticulture, and professional garden design.Olivia started her career as a gardener in private city and country gardens of all sizes, as well as woodland conservation work.

Her designs take into account the geometry of the buildings, and character of the landscape to establish a strong coherent ground plan. Like a painting, once she has established the layout and function of the garden, she adds colour and movement, through the skilful use of plants and materials.

Olivia draws inspiration from the natural and built environment, and sees beauty in everything from the reflection of trees in a still pool, or the warm colour of autumn leaves on a cold stone surface, to the crisp curves and stark textures of modern art and sculpture. She believes in the poetry of the landscape, and the peace and spiritual rewards of a beautiful garden.
